Upcoming dates: FAQs What happens if I can't make all the classes? If you can't make all the classes on the timetable for a particular course there is no problem at all. All the necessary information to complete the course is contained in the workbooks that you will be given at the start of the course. You can complete the missed section at home and your teacher will be able to help you with any problems you encounter. What is the difference between TESOL, TEFL and CELTA? These courses are all basically the same, they are just slightly different standards. CELTA is a British course, whereas the Cert. IV in TESOL is an Australian course. I've seen courses online for only a few hundred dollars. What is the difference between these courses and yours? This is a fully accredited course by the Australian government. It also includes 20 hours of prac teaching which online courses don't, and which English language schools all over the world will look for when reviewing your qualifications. This course will allow you to teach almost anywhere (see course outcomes above), whereas an online course won't give you an accredited qualification. Do you offer a “job guarantee”? A number of companies offer “job guarantees” for their TESOL courses, but we see this as unnecessary. Firstly, the requirements for actually getting a refund are quite strict (you usually have to apply for at least 30 jobs in a short period of time, and in countries such as China where you may not want to work), and secondly they’re unnecessary, as anyone with a TESOL certificate and who has English as their native language will almost certainly be able to find a job somewhere in the world (that’s why they offer the job guarantees – they know they’ll never have to actually honour them).
