What do you like most about teaching Spanish?
What I like most about teaching Spanish is the great nervous energy and excitement I feel at the beginning of each class, this despite the fact that I have been teaching for over 5 years. The anticipation of meeting so many new people and starting a new adventure in learning gets my juices flowing. Watching students make all the little breakthroughs that occur during each class is incredibly exciting. I think my favourite times are when a student succeeds beyond their beliefs.
What do you think you offer your students?
It never ceases to amaze me how every class develops its own personality and positive reactions to my teaching style. People tell me about the lifelong friends they made in my classes. They are quite pleased when they realize that my classes are not just about learning a second language but about learning how to learn, how to work with their peers, and how learning a new way of expression can affect their lives way beyond the classroom.
How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as an original and interesting person. I am very assertive, friendly and positive. I like helping others to identify their positive qualities, because people that feel good about themselves, will be better team members. It gives me the zeal and impetus to work towards excellence. One thing I firmly believe in is that one should always strive towards individual betterment in whichever form it may be. Therefore I'm never tired of beginning where others end.
